Cataract Removal Surgery

Here at Chelmsford Optometric Associates, we are proud to offer cataract-removal surgery.

Often as people age, their eyes become cloudy. This condition is called cataracts, and they can make it difficult to see clearly.

For this reason, we are pleased to be able to perform cataract-removal surgery. We use local anesthesia to numb your eye before starting the procedure. Then we make a small incision on your cornea. Using ultrasonic waves to break up the cloudy lens, we are then able to suction the bad lens out.

After we remove the old lens, we replace it with a man-made lens to help your vision, though you may still require a new prescription for your glasses. There are some people who don’t need a prescription at all after the surgery.

Our entire hospital and staff are dedicated to staying on top of the latest advances so that we can continue to give our patients the care they deserve. We are always looking for new and better ways to perform cataract-removal surgery.

If you have any questions about cataract removal surgery or would like your cataracts examined, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (978) 256-5731.
